Last week I shared an obscured copy of the Angling Times preview from my upcoming book, The Mighty Trent. In fairness I couldn’t share a clear copy whilst it was still on sale in the newsagents as I hoped you might hopefully buy a copy of the paper.
I did appreciated the tongue in cheek comments that I’d left it out in the rain, it was all smudged, was I drunk, etc, were meant in good humour but it had to be that way. Otherwise there would be no paper.
A new issue of Angling Times dropped this morning which means last weeks’ copy is now off-sale and consigned to the dustbin of history so hopefully no-one at Bauer will complain too loudly if I now share the original piece here in a format you can actually read:
It is an extract from the book about my earliest attempts at catching Trent barbel and my friendship with Archie Braddock dating back almost 40 years. Not for the first time during this project I’ve been left wondering where the time goes.
Anyway, if you are looking for a present or stocking filler, this won’t break the bank…
